"...it is not only acceptable, but essential, to lean on others for support."
I wish someone would have told me that it is not only acceptable, but essential, to lean on others for support. When I first entered the field of association management, everything was new to me. As I grew into my role and took on more responsibilities, I encountered more complex situations. Some of those situations I had never encountered before, and I found myself turning to more senior colleagues for advice. They generously shared their time and expertise, answered my questions, and encouraged me to think about new ways of handling situations. That guidance provided me with the confidence to navigate those challenging situations. As I continue to grow in my role, I have come to recognize that seeking support is not a weakness, but a strength. That reaching out to others for guidance, advice, and feedback is how we continue to grow.
