Public Speaking 101: Tips and Tricks to becoming a powerful presenter

It doesn’t matter which leading publication you turn to – all of them agree; public speaking is critical to your success in today’s business worlds. And as new technology promises more connections with more people, the need for improved IRL face-to-face communication skills grows exponentially. It starts with intentional small steps forward. In this keynote session, Gina Glover will lead attendees through some of the most important aspects of delivering a powerful and polished presentation. Derived from content in her ½ day public speaking workshop, attendees will learn:

• Winning ways to open a presentation
• Polishing presence with panache
• Strategies to slow the stress and nix the nerves before stepping into the spotlight.

Gina is no stranger to the stage. At the age of 10, she began singing the National Anthem at local high school basketball games. Her speaking skills began in earnest when she attended a Toastmasters meeting during college. Realizing how critically important communication would be in her corporate career, she has remained active in Toastmasters since first joining the organization in 1994.

In 2019. Gina decided to intentionally go after the goal of becoming a professional speaker and Gina Connects was launched. She continues to volunteer her time for several organizations including the Wisconsin Chapter of the National Speakers Association, where she serves as its President-Elect, as well as Girls on the Run, and Habitat for Humanity. She also has been an integral part of a Speaker Skills workshop with TEDxOshkosh to prepare the selected speakers for their time on the red carpet circle. She stood on that same circle and delivered her TEDx talk in 2023 about the critical importance of connection. When she’s not speaking or coaching, you can find Gina traveling with her husband and her two children, or running somewhere in the U.S. as she continues her quest to run a race in every state
